Great place to stay, very quiet and beautiful view
We were first asked for 600 pesos. Everywhere in town except for El Dorado hotel seemed to up their prices for gringos. Seeing the reviews here, we returned to the King and asked for the 400 pesos room like in the review. We were given a very comfortable room, brand new, with 2 queen size beds with very comfortable blanket, a gas heater we didn't need to use with the blankets, bathroom with very hot water, wifi worked great after we were told about a statewide service interruption. We had to go to the King supermarket to check in and out, right around the corner across the street. It's an excellent room for 400 pesos, much less for 600 since the very surrounding does not offer much. Rooms up the stairs have a nice view though but we were downstairs. After 2.5 years roaming Mexico and Central America, we noticed a habit of giving the gringo the worse room at first. After getting in the habit of checking the room first and asking to see one that seemed better situated or better furnished, we were usually given the best as soon as we requested something else. Same goes with wifi when we first asked for the room that had the best signal reception. They never minded giving us what we asked for but without asking we were often given the worse room (no window, broken fan, no wifi signal, etc...). Parking on front of the rooms felt safe.
Great place for travelers! The hotel is good and inexpensive but the best thing is the attached grocery/hardware store that they also run. They help to organize what they don't have - a huge advantage, because Amazon & Co don't deliver to Yécora. Also dogs are very welcome here. Such friendly people, thanks for the hospitality!
